FSC and PEFC Certification |

There are now nearly seven billion people on the planet and we are seeing the ever-increasing impact of man's activities on the natural environment, including the forests. Timber is the world's only truly renewable resource and can be recycled through a succession of uses.
The forests which produce timber and wood fibre need careful management if they are to continue to meet the increasing demands placed upon them, not only by us, the consumers, but also by the communities which depend upon them for their livelihood. Through chain of custody certification this can be achieved.

FSC is an international non-profit organisation founded in 1993 to support environmentally appropriate, socially beneficial, and economically viable management of the world's forests. FSC is endorsed by WWF, Friends of the Earth, Greenpeace, and the Woodland Trust.
PEFC is an independent, non-profit, non-governmental organisation, founded in 1999, which promotes sustainably managed forests through independent third-party certification.
Both these schemes enable consumers to track timber and wood products right back to the forest, with the assurance that they have been sourced from responsibly managed forests.
